Solid Made Simple
Did you know

That more than 50% of kids are picky eaters because of their parents?

When it comes to mealtimes . .

You want it to be a place where you create memories, spend time together, your child eats enough and has a variety of foods

But if we look at mealtimes with our kids today it is filled with . ..

Tantrums, forcing, stress, begging, distractions, crying and is no where close to being pleasant.

How did we get here?

You are watching other kids not chew their food, need constant distraction, eating the same thing everyday , and binging on junk.

And you want to make sure it doesn’t happen to your child!

But you don’t know where to start because you have been:

  • Told 10 different pieces of advice by your doctor,nanny,in-laws,friends,instagram influencers and you are so overwhelmed that you just wing it every day which will eventually get you stuck in a food rut with the same meals.
  • Given outdated advice like starting with dal ka paani and rice cereal      (which you know will limit their taste buds and make them reject flavourful food) so you spend hours researching and then you have no energy left to actually create a balanced, nutritious meal plan so you fall back on old habits that fuel picky eating.
  • Surrounded by family members and nannies commenting on how the baby has to eat a certain amount so you start solids with forcing your baby to finish a bowl which will then lead them to resist home cooked meals and only eat with distractions
  • Brought up with a volume driven culture of finishing your plate and now you yourself struggle with eating the right foods, overeating, hormonal imbalances and you just wish you had better food habits that could have been created from early childhood.

But it doesn’t have to be this way!

When you know how to:
  • Save hours of research by following one expert backed meal plan
  • Offer a variety of foods
  • Set up the right mealtime routine
  • Offer foods at the right time
  • Follow the right feeding approach ( baby led weaning or spoon feeding)
  • Understand the amount of food and what your baby actually needs to thrive

That’s when your child will enjoy a variety for foods and have the space to build good eating habits

Sanchita Daswani

Hi, I’m Sanchita.

I am a Nutrition Consultant for Babies and Toddlers where I focus on guiding and empowering parents to confidently offer meals to their kids.

When my twins turned 6 months and I was going to start solids, I was super excited.

  • I read all the books
  • I followed all the accounts on social media
  • I spoke to my friends
  • I consulted my pediatrician
  • I took advice from everyone

But still.. I was super confused and overwhelmed, I would stay up till 4 am reading all this information and feeling even more nervous and agitated. I just had no idea what way to follow.

Baby led weaning, spoon feeding, responsive feeding, finger foods, purees-it was too much.

So I ended up just sticking to one book and following it.

I did all the wrong things:

  • I fed them rice cereal and packaged puffs- which led my son to end up having major gut issues
  • I fed them on a recline which was actually a choking hazard and not safe
  • I did not let them see food or touch it for a long time- which made them not like vegetables
  • I continued with formula for too long that led them to reject foods

It was only when my kids at 1.5 years just stopped eating everything that I had to look back and try and figure what happened.

I felt I had just blindly followed advice and I didn’t really understand why I was doing what I was doing.

I then started to study about child nutrition and understand what babies actually need and I was blown away.

I decided to get Certified and now as a consultant, I make sure that parents don’t make the same mistakes I did and that so many parents have to ensure that they set the right foundation for their child’s health and eating habits.
